GD organises proficiency testing schemes (PTS), also known as Ring Trials, based on ISO 5725:1994 (E) to offer participants the opportunity to compare their results with those of other laboratories using the same test method. The results of proficiency testing schemes also provide information about the repeatability and reproducibility of test methods.

GD has been accredited according to ILAC G13:07/2007 for the organisation of eleven proficiency testing schemes.
